Patient data

The second large field of the example scenario includes the filing of patient information (data type Patient_T). At the highest level the two classes "in-patient" and "ambulant patient" are distinguished (image "Structuring of ambulant patients and in-patients"). Of course, each patient is provided with information on the person (name, address, date of birth and telephone number) and is, as a consequence, a specialisation of the Person_T data type. Moreover, patients are listed with a contact date and the anamnesis as well as the examinations carried out and the received services. An examination includes a date, information on the kind and amount of the articles consumed, several findings and a link in the form of a XLink indication to the attending doctor.

An in-patient additionally contains information on the admission including a reference on the admitting doctor. An admission consists of a date, a reason for the admission, the place of accommodation in the hospital (ward and bed) and a reference to the attending doctor.
