Structuring of a surgery

Analogously, the service of a surgery is composed of a (possibly – in the case of an immediate abort – empty) list of individual processes. The image below demonstrates the structure and in particular the different processes during a surgery. A surgery is carried out by a set of doctors, whereby in the Role attribute the activities or the responsibility of the respective doctor in the scope of the surgery are recorded. The start and the end represent values of the xs:dateTime data type and indicate the time or indirectly the duration of the surgery. All possible processes appear in a chronological order in the patient data stock. The processes of the anaesthesia, the injection and the infusion only contain information on the articles consumed. In case of an incision, the position can be optionally recorded. A transplantation consists of an organ and – for traceability – a reference to the donor. Finally, the process of the implantation includes as subelements a purpose and a reference to the implant which is also managed in the article catalogue.
